Morrfire Investigative Services
Origin and Cause for Structure Fires
Since 1991 Jeff Morrill has investigated over one thousand structure fires and explosion scenes. These incidents have been as simple as a pan on the stove to separate and distinct fires in three different rooms to whole city blocks comprised of multiple rental merchants. No structure fire is ever too big or too small.
Origin and Cause for Vehicle and Heavy Equipment
I've investigated nearly one thousand pieces of mobile machinery including just about anything with an engine that moves. My life-long background in mechanics allows me to understand the complex relationship between virtually all vehicle systems. I contributed to the vehicle fire chapter in the NFPA 921 in 1999 and, as a committee member, serve as the chairman of the vehicle fire investigations chapter task group, responsible to the full committee for the contents of the chapter. Since its inception in 2002, I have been a staff instructor for the National Association of Fire Investigators (NAFI), a certified vehicle investigations program and the only one of its kind. I am routinely requested to speak on matters of vehicle fires and have written several articles including the influential “Analysis of a Ford Speed Control Deactivation Switch Fire”; a peer reviewed article published by the IAAI.
Case Review & Case Management
All origin and cause cases require some level of review. Most reviews come from a superior or coworker performing a technical analysis of a report before sending it to a client. Alternatively, adverse parties may review an investigators work for methodology, knowledge, and scientific basis. There are times when a client may be preparing for litigation and needs a review of an experts work. A client may need assistance in preparing a defense or evaluating the merit of a case, especially where multiple experts are involved. Case review and case management are tools a client can utilize to quickly and economically determine the strengths and weakness of a case.
